What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is also known as two-step verification. 2FA is an extra layer of security used when logging into your account. While setting up 2FA, you associate your mobile phone with your account. Once set up, the next time you log into your account you are sent a six digit number to your phone to use in addition to your username and password.

Can I disable 2FA later?

Yes, if you change your mind later, you can disable 2FA individually.

We recommend reading how Google use Two Factor Authentication before setting it up for yourself.
